Introduction
You might be surprised by this, but God has plans for your work. No matter where you work or what it is you do, you can serve God through your career and in your workplace. In week two, Pastor John taught how our co-workers are more than just colleagues, but people God has brought into our lives for a purpose.
Discussion
1. Share about the general atmosphere or interactions with your co-workers these days. How are these relationships impacting you and your work right now?
2. Revisit and read Psalm 139:1-18. How does knowing God values and knows every detail about you influence the way you see and interact with your co-workers?
3. When you think of your typical workday, how likely are you to notice or engage with someone? Think about a time you learned a co-worker was struggling or in need. How did you respond and what did you learn?
4. Share about a time when you felt you "blew it" with a coworker. How did you handle it, and what steps did you take (or could you take) to make things right?
5. Revisit and read Proverbs 16:9. How have you seen God establishing your steps in the workplace? Share an example when what seemed like a coincidence turned out to be part of a larger plan.
Application
Take note. Ask God to help you notice and see what he is doing in the lives of your co-workers.
Take action. Find unique and meaningful ways to care for your co-workers, aiming to want more for them than from them.
Take ownership. Evaluate your daily interactions and be ready to demonstrate humility and authenticity by owning your mistakes and making things right.
